Liight utilizes Google Fit data in strict compliance with the Google Fit Developer and User Data Policy, including limited usage restrictions. Under no circumstances will we sell your Google Fit data or use it for advertising purposes.
We prioritize your privacy: Your Google Fit data is solely used for automatic step detection and is never sold or used for advertising or any other undisclosed purpose.
Your data is secure: We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your Google Fit data against unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
You control your data: You have control over which Google Fit data you share with Liight and any other app, access to them, correction, or deletion at any time. From your mobile device, simply go to "App Permissions" > "Liight" > "Physical Activity" > "Disallow". You can also do this directly from the Liight app in the "Profile" tab and revoke consent for Google Fit synchronization at any time. Additionally, if you want us to permanently delete your data, including Google Fit data, you can delete your account from the "Profile" tab. Please note that this action is irreversible, and there will be no way to recover your data.
Your Google Fit data will only be used to provide you with automatic step detection functions. You can find all the information about our privacy policy on our website. However, for the sake of user-friendly reading, we summarize the relevant information regarding Google Fit: "In the specific context of Android and synchronization with Google Fit, we request access to the Activity and Location scopes. The Activity scope is necessary to determine the user's current activity: whether it's walking or biking. In the case of walking activity, we require the total step count to allocate points based on quantity and calculate the equivalent reduced CO2 footprint. Regarding biking activity, we need to know the cadence to adjust point allocation, and once again calculate the amount of equivalent reduced CO2. These scopes enable us to access crucial information to enhance the user experience and ensure consistency with Liight's mission of promoting sustainable habits. On the other hand, access to the Location scope provides us with information about the distance traveled by the user during a specific activity. This information is essential for better understanding the activities performed and providing precise feedback to the user. It's important to note that all data collected from Google Fit is processed on the user's mobile device and then sent to the server for validation. Once validated, this data is stored in our database in Paris, hosted on AWS, exclusively for the purpose of providing an enhanced service to the user. This data can be accessed by the user in the 'Activity History' section of the application. Furthermore, we conduct analysis of this data to improve the user experience, but it's crucial to emphasize that there will never be a transmission of activity history data to third parties. We guarantee the confidentiality and security of user data at all times."
